Hello I was wondering if someone could help me.
I am mcsa 2000 and have taken the 70-292 and did not pass. The exam focused on things that I was struggling with to begin with, although I did feel that I had enough knowledge to pass. Apparently I didn't. I am retaking it in January. I already have transcenders, which I used to prepare. I also have the Microsoft Press book, but I am thinking that I should purchase something else? Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
I do feel that the change in Transcenders as compared to my last exams might have played a role. I don't think they are keeping up as they did before? Anyone else experienced this?
Any help is appreciated, thank you. _________________ Rainbowfly

I also had a beef with this exam and am not ashamed of saying that I gave up and took 70-290 and 70-291, which also gave me the MCSA title.
70-292 charges one too much, that is, one mistake and you are out and, in my opinion, that's not what happens in real life, sometimes we forget and go search MSKB, Google, etc, no one is up to remember 100% of the tech stuff.
Best of luck. _________________ Kikieh!!!

Can I do that? I don't think I can, I already am a MCSA in 2000?
Since you are MCSA in 2000 you can.
There's a tool called Certification Planner in the MCP Member site, take a look there and you will be able to see the paths you can go. _________________ Kikieh!!!

I Passed the 70-292 a year ago and the 70-296 just before Christmas.
In my opinion always use an non-Microsoft Press resources in addition to any other materials when preping for MS exams.
I used:
CBT nugget labs (70-296 exam only)
MS Press Indows 2003 Server Inside Out
Trancenders Tests
Sybex Mastering Windows 2003 Server
Sybex Mastering Active Directory &
Exam Cram2
Inparticular I recommend the top two in my list.
(Although I have not been a fan of MS PRess the Inside out range for 2003 server & XP are excellent.)
the 292 exam should be fairly straight forward for a 2k MCSA. With some focused studying really shouldn't be too hard but these qualifications should not be given away. The 296 exam, however was a #!&*@.
