Going through a lot of posts here, i see a lot of figures in dollers, but average salary's will be different over in the US than here in the UK obviously.

I'm interested in what i could be earning in a couple of years once i build up my experiance and get my certs.

Im working in the north east as a tech support engineer (onsite and remote) and on a pitiful salary £11,000k (but got a company car), but im only 19 with an MCP, so im happy at the min but i know I've got a while to go before earning any major cash.

If your posting your salary, how old are you? whats your job role? which area in the UK are you working?

Hi irawksteve, I'm also in the North East. After a couple of years experience you could be looking at Desktop Support anything between £14k to £20k depending on the company and industry sector.

I'm employed as a Technical Analyst (desktop engineer) and earn just under the top end of the above.

Public sector (local authorities) in the North East tend to pay quite well, while the private sector which I work in depends on the company.

I'm in my v.late 20's but age is irrelevant if you have the skills and experience (real world that is).

I've noticed that, but when i applied it was before i had this job so i doubt they even looked at my CV, its going to be my first option when im job hunting again.

Yeah, thankfully ive got a good position where im getting a tonn of good experiance in a variety of hardware/software, in the past week alone i've worked with everything from arcserv on NT3!, to VPN's with 2003, and a linksys router to a pix firewall!

Just to give you all a bit of hope. I am almost 24, and I earn over the top amount of the poll at the top. It all comes down to experience, knowledge and confidence.
