does anyone know of a good resource for setting up / administering a USENET server?
I'm looking to learn more about how it all works on the backend...

Question

Thanks!

Ok.. I'll take first crack at this hoping one of our linux gurus cleans up my mess Smile

The software packages I have seen are called Suck and Newsx and I think you would need one of those (or other similar software). Not incredibly helpful, but maybe will get you in the right direction. Smile

If you want to go through a lot of trouble to setup a real usenet server you can try this:

http://www.isc.org/index.pl?/sw/inn/

Or if you just want something easy to play around with go here:

these are good places to start - thanks

I'm not really wanting to setup a NNTP server, I really just want to learn how it all works on the backend, and usually working with the software is a great way to figure it out.
