Need help with a Transcender question

Im reading up on my 291 exam, and am trying the simulations (and it seems i know nothing..so far)

You are the administrator for ABC.com. The network consists of two Active Directory domains named XYZ.com and CORP.XYZ.com. Both domains are AD integrated.

All domain controllers are DNS servers.

Another admin creates two application partitions named Partition1 and Partition2. The domain controllers are enlisted in the partitions as shown in the table.

We need to configure the replication of ABC.com. Also need to ensure that ABC.com zone information is not replicated to caching-only servers.

What should you do?

Choose How You Want Zone Data To Be Replicated

-To all DNS servers in the active directory forest XYZ.com

-To all DNS servers in the active directory domain XYZ.com

-To all domain controllers in the active directory domain XYZ.com

Choose this option if the zone should be loaded by windows 2000 DNS servers running on the domain controllers in the same domain

-To all domain controllers specified in the scope of the following application directory partition

It's supposed to be "-To all DNS servers in the active directory domain XYZ.com"

My question....Why is it that?

What does the partition actually do/what difference does it make?
