I just got back from the testing center and passed with a score of 957. Quite frankly I was amazed with the score as I was only scoring around 70% avg. with Transcenders. As I was taking the test I was sure I was failing and I had to guess for quite a few questions.
Took me about an hour and a half..
lots of simulation questions, so know your ADUC, Backup strategies, and NTFS/Share perms like the back of your hand.
I studied for about a month with the following materials:
MS PRESS book
Transcender
CBT Nuggets
this website + technet
Whoever has the exam scheduled soon I hope your next to post a success! Good luck and hang in there!!!
on to the beast now!!
Also a question for the community. I read somewhere that you can use your MCSA as your MCSE elective is this true? thanks.

Congrats!
I passed a few weeks ago with a score in the 900's too which surprised me because I was scoring between 660 to 690 range on the transcenders as well. Now on to the 70-291!

It depends on what elective you take to get your MCSA. Some of them count as electives towards MCSE, some don't. Your best bet is to check the MSCE requirements on Microsoft's site.
Oh, and congrats on the pass, and good luck on 291! _________________ A+, Network+, MCP (70-270, 70-290), working on 70-291

Generally are transcender tests more difficult than the "real" thing?

Congrats for passing.
Regarding the scores, bear in mind that when one takes the exam, the engine selects questions from a pool of questions, and it's an adaptive kind of exam. There's more than a thousand ways that one can get a set of questions. _________________ MCP (70-270, 70-290, 70-228, 70-229)

I am taking the 70-290 test on Tuesday. I have been averaging about 93% on the transcender "Preset Exams" and I am a little nervous about the actual test. I haven't taken an exam in a couple of years. Did anyone get questions about server access licensing? I hope I can make a post that I passed next week....PEACE _________________ A+, Network+, MCP (Win2k Pro)
