Nobody knows the answer to that question as the scoring system is secret. Furthermore, they do not use a standard scale.
It is best to just worry about knowing the material rather than how many you need to get right. _________________ Did you know?

Exactly what J said.....do you want to minimally pass, or achieve a higher level of knowledge...know all you can, and you will pass every exam.... _________________ i remain, he who remains to be....

I passed core hardware today with a 624.
I was curious about the amount required as nerves were playing a major part in the lead up to today's exam.
But thankfully getting a few questions I was comfortable with early on helped and the nerves subsided a little.
Was surprised about the 20 extra questions for the new test that were included in the exam, They don't affect your score and you don't which ones they are anyway.

Could you give a little more details on this part, please?

For the scoring, even if they don't use standard scale or equal points per question, I figure that it'll still be roughly the same when you average out the maximum points by the number of the exam questions.
The maximum point is 900, but we get 100 for our names right, so there're 800 points to be distributed.
Divide 800 by the number of questions, assuming 80, yields an average of 10 points per question.
So, to get a total of 515 means 515 - 100 (your name) = 415 on the exam itself.
Divide 415 by 10 gives about 42, which is only 53%.
To be safe, let's consider 45 questions correctly answered on my estimated scoring.
That is still only about 56%.
If consider 50, it's 62%.
Still, this is my estimate, it could be wrong.
BTW, how many questions are there in the A+ Hardware / OS? I used to heard of 65 questions, then I heard it somewhere saying 70, then another saying 80.
Anyone can give a sure number?
