mainly Live soccer from europe using software like PPLive , PPStream, etc... each game takes about 120-500 MBs , some times more. well if it's illegal to mention it on the forum.. too bad. At least I know there is way... thx bro

AH - games ... nope, nothing illegal about that ... 'tho how you're getting away with it at school is another matter
It is possible that the limitation is being imposed by the School's ISP - win which case there is nothing you can do about it ...
If it is being enforced by a local policy ... you would have to grant yourself network admin rights and start changing permissions. However in my experience, this sort of bandwidth limitation is enforce by the ISP ...

If the school has a policy of a certain bandwidth limit and you try to break that policy, you could be kicked off the network permenantly or removed from school. You may want to review the Acceptable Use Policy of your school to find out what the consequences are.
If you want to play games and you need more bandwidth, why not just pay for a DSL connection? Seems like breaking the network policy of the school is much more hazardous. _________________ kidvelvet www.kidvelvet.net

I've noticed a lot of wireless access points are not secured when scanning through my neighborhood or at my friend's. The users don't setup encryption and anyone and their mom can log unto the wireless router. I don't suggest using a wireless card and logging on like that to freeload off other connections, because then you'd be at the mercy of that person if that was his/her intent lol. If they purposely set their wireless connection to unsecure just to see who would log on so they can try to hax0r's you, then you may be compromised that way lol <-- But it IS a good way to test your wireless connectivity. When I have wireless issues, I connect to the neighbors'. If I can, it tells me my NIC is fine and the wireless router is the device having issues.
If you DO upload things, just make sure you compress them. Otherwise, you need to find a different activity to enjoy. The one thing that uses up the most bandwidth are streaming video/radio. ISPs absolutely hate them. The problem is people leave the connections on and forget to turn them off, or they just leave them on 24/7, unknowingly. _________________ A+ & Network+ certified
