right? (Tell Me If I'm wrong)
now the question is what is www? is it a name for server ? or something else..

Yes, www is either the server name or an alias for the server name. Your web server could be called websrva and then a CNAME (alias) record is created in DNS to map www to websrva.
Your description of the rest of your fqdn is close enough. To be more precise you will normally see .com, .edu etc, etc, referred to as a top level domain name and the next part to the left as the second level domain name and so on.
