About Cormac Doyle |
 |
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Forum Profile: Cormac Doyle
Contributions:
Cormac Doyle was voted unanimously by our moderators to join our team because of his high level of knowledge in the Microsoft arena where we desperately needed help after letting 4 moderators go. Cormac has been a regular contributor to the forums answering some of the tougher questions. We are also happy to have another mod from Europe after losing 2 of our British friends.
Cormac has authored an excellent article titled, "Dazed & Confused by the new Microsoft Certifications".
About Me:
I’ve worked in the Technical Support team for Symantec EMEA for more than three years, as a member of the Northern Team (Technical support in Europe has to be Language based … Northern team deals with all English language calls) – starting out in “Gold Support” (SoHo and SME) before advancing to Platinum (Nusiness Critical), and now the “Advanced” team, providing technical support to high-end Business Critical customers and other members of the Northern team.
Before joining Symantec, I worked for four years as an IT Technician for UCD Library (UCD is the largest University in Ireland) … and worked in a couple of contract posts between the two.
My first PC was a “no-brand” 8088 PC running an early brand of DOS (Windows 3.0 wasn’t even released yet). I don’t remember how old I was at the time, but within a few months I was using “PC Write” to create a weekly publication for the local church. (After that grounding, I’ve always hand-coded my HTML … it just comes naturally!). Of course, going through college, I thought Genetics was cool, but after getting my Degree I decided that computers were more fun and did a second degree part time … there’s always time to change track!
