CompTIA Sues CheatExams.com
CertCities has just released an article that CompTIA is suing CheatExams.com. What makes this a big deal is that CheatExams is not located in the U.S. and is actually located in India.

When Microsoft and CompTIA got aggressive with homegrown braindump and cheat sites last year, the rest moved overseas. This was particularly true when Robert Keppel actually received jail time for his crimes. The current owners of braindump sites, mostly located in China and Pakistan, believe that they are untouchable. This is the first case that I am aware of where a certification vendor has gone after an international target and will hopefully pave the way to getting rid of the rest of the low lifes out there.

It will be interesting to see if CompTIA can enforce the results of the lawsuit which is apparently still pending as neither of the defendants have responded to the suit.

We will keep you posted as we learn more. Click here to read the full CertCities article.

CompTIA Abandoning Adaptive Exams
According to an article on CertCities.com, CompTIA will no longer offer adaptive exams and the A+ exam will not be adaptive after September 12th. The primary motivation for the change is the fact that CompTIA cannot include unscored beta questions in adaptive exams. This will allow them to update exams more frequently.

The new A+ exams on the Windows 2003 objectives will have 80 questions as compared with the 20 or 30 currently offered in the adaptive format.

A+ Upgrade Release
CompTIA's web site now states that the updated A+ exams will be available sometime in November of 2003. New questions have already been appearing on A+ exams, however, they do not count towards a candidates score.

Read the full article for more information about the upgraded A+ exams.
