WELCOME:
Welcome to our 8th edition. Thanks to all of you that responded to our emergency newsletter last week and voted for us at Cramsession. We are back in 1st place at their Top Sites section thanks to your help. WHAT�S NEW AT MC MCSE:
Added several new links to practice exams and tutorials. Received and posted an article written by Michael DeBussy of MCSE Tutor called, "Don't Take a Training Class Until You Read This!"

SURVEY RESULTS:
The most recent survey that we posted, asked the following question: How much of a salary increase do you expect once you pass your MCSE?

IMHO, it seems that a lot of people may be counting on salary increases that they will not ever see. In the old days, when there were few MCSEs in the world, one could expect a hefty salary increase when obtaining their certification. Now, certification has become very popular. There are tons of people passing the exams everyday and to some degree, this has devalued their worth. They still retain value as it can make the difference in getting a job if competing against someone who is not certified, they are proof of your hard work and are recognized industry wide. Anymore, your compensation and employability are base on experience and while some people may see sizable salary increases from getting their MCSE alone, it probably not worth counting on. Keep in mind that these are my opinions and based on personal experience, information that I have received from others and articles that I have read. Best of luck...

Here are the survey results:

31% answered that they expect to receive a $5000 - $10000 salary increase.
24% answered that they expect to receive a $0 - $5000 salary increase.
19% answered that they expect to receive a $15000+ salary increase.
15% answered that they expect to receive a $10000 - $15000 salary increase.
11% answered that they did not expect to receive a salary increase at all.

There were 1,519 respondents.

This site costs $6.95 for 3 months of access. With membership, they say that they have tons of online study material and exams, links, etc.

Very nice tutorials on a variety of networking topics. Should be very useful for the Networking Essentials exam.
