  • Need to start or add to your home study lab? uBid.com provides online auctions for computers, components, home theater and much more. Unlike many of the other online auction sites, where products typically sell for market price (or higher) due to high numbers of bidders, uBid has a much smaller crowd and great deals are still possible. Check them out at uBid.com

    What's New @ MC MCSE:
    CertNotes.com
As we mentioned in a previous issue, we have purchased CertNotes.com. Over the next couple of months, we will be moving MC MCSE to CertNotes and MC MCSE will eventually be turned off (after 4 years of service). The new site will contain all of the materials currently at MC MCSE and we will be adding some exiting new materials and features over time. We posted a new home page at CertNotes where you can register to receive an email notification when the site is officially launched.

    CheetSheets owner going to jail?
In a story released by MCP Magazine, the owner of the now decimated CheetSheets.com pleaded guilty to "Theft of Trade Secrets" and will likely face jail time, possibly up to 10 years.

This is the latest of several owners getting into legal and now criminal trouble for engaging in unethical/illegal business activites.

This marks a real turning point in the certification industry as in the past, these issues were solved in civil court. The fact that the governement is now imposing criminal action against these people, should reinforce what we have been saying here all along, "Selling real exam questions and posting braindumps is not only unethical, it is illegal".

For those of you looking to get certified, you are tasked with the responsibility of making sure that you aren't giving your money to known criminals. If you want to find quality products for certification, check out our Training Directory.

Check out the full article at Certcities.

    Security+ Beta:
On August 26th, CompTIA released the beta exam of their new Security+ certification. The beta exam will be available until September 30th for a price of only $90.

    More Jobs For U.K. Techies?
The government in the U.K. has reportedly removed all I.T. jobs from their "shortage occupation list" which means that workers from other countries will have a harder time getting a work permit. On the positive side, this will leave more positions available for local residents who are facing very high unemployment rates.
