    The effects of the economic downturn continue to ripple through the tech industry. The most recent event is the apparent shutdown of The Coriolis Group, which for many years was a leading publisher of technology and computer certification books. Founded in 1989, most people remember them for their Exam Cram computer certification series and web site.

    MCP Program Celebrates 10th Birthday:
    On April 2, 2002 Microsoft announced that the Microsoft Certified Professional program hit its 10th anniversary and has certified over 1.2 million individuals worldwide.

    i-Net+ Exam Update:
    CompTIA has announced that starting on April 12th, certification candidates will be taking an updated version of the i-Net+ exam. Specifically, they state that the new exam "features an increased emphasis on Internet security and includes updates on wireless, and other technologies critical to job competency".
