  • What's New @ MC MCSE:
Here is what weve been up to:

We have been working feverishly on a new training directory that will be available in about 2 weeks. The directory will allow you to find various types of training products and services that will help you prepare for your certifications. The products and services will be rated and reviewed by your peers in order to help you find the very best products and values available. Stay tuned!

A new practice exam for CompTIA I-net+ certification is nearly complete and will be posted soon.

Backing Up and Restoring Windows 2000:
Backing up your data can be one of the most important things that you do in your IT and/or home life. You never seem to miss something until it is gone. If you want to spend more time making money and not redoing things that you have already done then make sure you back it up. In this tutorial, we will explain the different backup options and how to use them.

    Windows XP Exams:
Microsoft has made changed to the Windows 2000 MCSE track to reflect the addition of Windows XP and .net Server exams. The good news is that the changes are very unobtrusive and offer a wider variety of topics to choose from. The first exam to be available will be 70-270 Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional which will begin beta testing sometime during September.

For more information visit Microsoft's web site.

    Mcpmag.com 2001 Salary Survey:
Mcpmag.com releases an annual salary survey that is quite possibly the most comprehensive of its kind. If you are already MCP/MCSE certified or are aspiring to be, this survey will give you a good benchmark as to what you are worth in the marketplace.

    Microsoft To Announce New Certs:
Microsoft has stated that 2 new certifications will be officially announced in the 4th quarter of this year. One certification will be geared towards system administrators and the other for developers. The decision is as the result of "analysis" that the MCSE covers material beyond the scope of an admins job and the MCSD contains materials not geared toward programmers.

For more information, visit Microsoft's web site.

    CIW Is Hot:
The Certified Internet Webmaster certification is rapidly growing in popularity and Prosoft Training has just announced that they have surpassed 25,000 certified members. Why consider CIW? The MCSE+internet certification was quite popular and those certified with this designation tended to make substantially more money that those with an MCSE only. The MCSE track has retired the MCSE+internet designation, however, getting CIW certified can complement the MCSE and prove your internet skills to employers, allowing you to reach the salaries achieved by MCSE+internet certified individuals.

For those of you unfamiliar with this cert, it is geared toward internet professionals and sort of picks up where CompTIA's I-net+ leaves off. Do you have an I-net+ certification? If so, then you have also earned yourself a CIW Foundations certification. All you have to do is visit http://www.ciwcertified.com, fill out a form and submit your official CompTIA score report. You may also use your MCSE and CNE as partial credit towards the Master CIW designation.

If you are interested in CIW certification, complete information can be found at ciwcertified.com.
