WHISTLER UPDATE:
On 12/15/00 we wrote an article about the upcoming Whistler OS release and the effects that it may have on your Windows 2000 certification. This article can be found at http://www.mcmcse.com/articles/whistler.shtml

We recently found another article that addressed some of our concerns with the release of Whistler and provided much good news. In a nutshell, because Whistler will be so similar to Windows 2000, they will not require those that are pursuing the Windows 2000 track to update their skills. To read the entire article, visit: http://www.wininformant.com/Articles/Index.cfm?ArticleID=19710

YOUR RESPONSIBILITY:
This article is really an exerpt from a post that we recently made at MCSELive.com and is something that we feel very strongly about. There is a lot of underhanded businesses out there making great profits while providing inferior or illegal products. To this we say the following:

Choose your products, services and websites that you visit wisely. There is a beautiful weapon that we ALL have - it is the economic laws of supply and demand. If we don't buy a company's products, they don't stay in business or have to change their business. If no one visits a website anymore, they do not stay in business. When you purchase a product it is like registering a "vote" for that entity and you can use these votes to demand accountability. It helps separate those that are motivated entirely by profit at any cost and those that truly wish to provide a quality product, educate people or just plain help.

Express yourself to those that are doing things that you feel are wrong whether it be a corporation or an individual. I would like to think that I had a small part in getting Microsoft to take action against sites in violation of the NDA as I have emailed them continuously over the past year - almost to the point of harassment. Most importantly, educate others or continue to do so if you already are.

Remember that this is your industry and it will be what we CHOOSE to make of it. Choose wisely!
