Newsletter #3 - Jul 01 1999
Back to archive

WELCOME:
Welcome to our 3rd edition and welcome to our new members! I have decided that I won't put any time constraints on how often this newsletter will be sent out. It will just be sent out when I feel it is ready, which so far has been a lot more often than once per month.

WHAT'S NEW:
COMPTIA CERTIFICATION SECTION ADDED!!!
We just added a new site that has links, books and general info for the A+ and Network+ exams. From what I was able to find, I would say that we have the most complete set of A+ links going.

Just completed a 50 question practice test for the TCP/IP exam. I rewrote the DHTML for this test so that it will give you a score in percent format. The previous exams would only tell you which ones you missed. I have not had a chance to thoroughly test the code in all browsers so if you have any problems let us know and we will take a look at it.

WE ARE GETTING OUR OWN DOMAIN NAME. It should be set up within the month. We will unveil the new domain name on the site and in the next newsletter. In the meantime, you will be able to access the site in the same way that you always have at: http://www.spiritone.com/~jsprague/mcse/index1.html.

How can you help us? Please vote for our site by clicking the link below and vote everytime you come to the site, it only takes 5 seconds. The votes improve our ranking at Cramsession and allow you to view a list of almost 100 other MCSE sites. Currently, about 8% of our visitors are voting. We would like to get that number up to 20%. Thanks!!! http://www.cramsession.com/cgi-bin/topsites/topsites.cgi?jsprague

FOOD FOR THOUGHT:
Do you already possess one of the following certifications: CNE, Master CNE, CNI, Banyan CBS or CBE, Sun Solaris 2.5 or 2.6? If so, then make sure that you let your testing center know as the Networking Essentials exam will be waived.

LINKS OF NOTE:
You have probably already discovered that most MCSE sites(including ours) provide a "standard" set of links to the favorite MCSE sites out there. In this section we will attempt to dig up other resources that you may not have seen before. Most of these links will not be to other MCSE sites, but these links will include information that will aid you in your journey to the MCSE or just plain general knowledge to make you a better IT professional. We do the searching for you.
