Major Changes Coming - Interruptions Likely:
I just wanted to let you all know that there are some big changes about to happen around here. There will likely be down-times and we didn't want you to think we were gone - quite the opposite - this site has been neglected for a while and it is about to rise from the ashes.

First, we will be moving to a new server and new web hosting company that actually knows something about security. We're all better off if I am spending my time worrying about content, rather than unhacking the site all of the time.

The current server is like 6 years old. Quite frankly, I am surprised it is even still running. The new one is going to be FAST and the company assures us things will run faster around here. The migration will occur in the next week or so. There will likely be downtimes and some of our software probably won't work correctly on MySQL 5. I am fairly certain that the practice tests will be down for a period while the code is updated.

After we get over that hump, we will be redesigning the site. It will be wider, new colors, same easy to navigate layout. I will keep you posted on this as we get closer to the time.

In the midst of all of this, there will be some new content. Yes, we finally found an author (an excellent one that we used a long time ago). He is currently writing a 70-620 practice exam that should be done by the end of this month. After that, our Network+ practice test and study guide will be updated for the latest exam objectives.

All of this comes at a considerable cost and time commitment, so please continue to support us.

Linux Moderator STILL Needed:
We still need a new Linux moderator that can help out in our Linux+, LPI, and Real World Linux forums. These forums aren't terribly busy, but we need to make sure that we have someone that can answer questions there. This is a volunteer position, however, there are some benefits.

:: First Windows 7 Beta Exam ::

Microsoft has announced the first Windows 7 beta exam, 71-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring. The available spots for the beta program apparently filled up very quickly and will run from May 5th - May 18th.

71-680: TS: Windows 7, Configuring counts as credit towards the following certification: MCTS: Windows 7, Configuration

I saw an interesting note at the bottom of the announcement that read:
"Regional Restrictions: India, Pakistan, China"
Microsoft is clearly trying to at least delay the braindumpers from getting their hands on the questions.
