Site problems, Google messages, etc. May was not the best month ever for us. Unfortunately, we had some very pesky hackers continuously hack our site. In fact, it took us nearly a month to stop them. We have since rebuilt our server and upgraded our software and security. During this time, you may have had problems logging into the site and we wanted to let you know that this has been resolved. You may still be receiving messages from Google stating that our site contains "badware". We wanted to let you know that this is untrue and we are working to have those warning removed. In other words, all is well now. Our apologies for the mess. New Certification Added to MC MCSE: We are proud to be the first certification site to endorse The Software Management Institute's (SMI) Software Management Professional (SMP) certification. This certification test is geared toward those working in software design, testing, and managment positions. The exam itself tests candidates on a wide variety of management level topics including project management, software design procedures, marketing, sales, and other business concepts. We have already added a practice test and study guide which can be accessed on our SMP exam details page. New Forums: Related to the above announcement, we have added a new forum section for Project Management certifications. This section will initially include 2 new forums for the SMP and PMP certifications. Although not promoted as loudly as the initial suit, Microsoft has apparently settled their lawsuit with TestKing. The terms of the settlement can be viewed here. Following this announcement, Microsoft aired a webcast designed to specifically address what is and is not a violation of the NDA as well as discuss their efforts to preserve exam integrity. On May 15th (ISC)˛ announced that they are increasing the minimum experience requirement from 4 years to 5 for their CISSP exam. Also, CISSP candidates will be required to obtain an endorsement of their candidature exclusively from an (ISC)˛-certified professional in good standing. Both of these changes go into effect October 1, 2007. Read the full press release here.

A project is a temporary and one-time endeavor undertaken to create a unique product or service which brings about beneficial change or added value. You might be saying “Well none of the projects I have worked on have failed. We completed the server consolidation, data center relocation, active directory migration, etc., etc. and everything worked perfectly!” This is the mentality of a resource (engineer, technician, developer, programmer, etc.) on a project. However, the measurement of success on a project is the deliverable completed within defined scope, quality, time and cost constraints. With the increase of IT Projects in organizations around the world, comes the increase in need for IT project managers. With the increase in need for IT project managers comes the increase in demand for certified IT project managers. Certification within IT project management is a tool used as verification that a project manager can use best practices, processes and proven methodologies to successfully complete a given project on time and within budget. Of course, making sure you take alot of extra practice tests, before writing is a must.  MCSA/MCSE Windows XP Professional Study Guide - By walkerboweThis is the book I used to write the 70-270 and it really good. Comes with the entire book on cd, and like 300 practice questions. Very detailed and explains everything well, even though i say these things. You should still make sure you do alot of practice tests, before writing. 70-270 isn't an easy test, so whatever you can get your hands on like, examcram, free practice test sites, do it.  70-270 MCSE / MCSA Guide to Microsoft Windows XP Professional - By walkerboweIt's a good book, but you might want to add another reading material with this one. Microsoft is always updating there tests, so an additional read is a must.
