New Moderators: For the first time, we posted a help wanted message looking for new moderators and received quite a bit of interest. Our new moderators Cormac Doyle and johndoe were selected as the result of a vote by our current moderators. Both of these new mods are extremely helpful and knowledgeable and we are sure our forums will be better off for having them. BCMSN Update: We have updated our BCMSN page to the new exam version (642-812). The new resource page can be found here. New Glossary Entries: We have added 6 new terms to our Glossary making a total of 286 terms. The new additions were NDIS, Open Relay, PostScript, PDL (Page Description Language), RDP (Remote Desktop Protocol), and X.25. Feel free to suggest any terms that you would like added. What's Coming: Our BCMSN practice exam has been written and will be uploaded to the site in the coming week.
Cisco has announced the release of a new CCDA exam - Designing for Cisco Internetwork Solutions exam (640-863 DESGN). The new exam is 65 questions with a time limit of 90 minutes. There are no simulations on this exam. Updated training is now available in order to prepare for this exam. The new curriculum incorporates current products, technologies, services, and solutions, and provides a foundation for students to gain the knowledge and skills required to design routed and switched network infrastructures and services. The updated DESGN curriculum emphasizes the converged enterprise network model, which extends the hierarchical model to all modules in the enterprise to facilitate preparing, planning, designing, implementing, operating, and optimizing (PPDIOO) networks. The curriculum presents services virtualization based on the Cisco Service-Oriented Network Architecture (SONA), shifting the vision of the network from a pure traffic transport-oriented view to a service and application-oriented view. Concepts are reinforced with extensive case studies.
