| :: New Cisco Security Specialist Exam :: |
|
The new Cisco� Information Security Specialist certification is now available. This certification is designed for the entry level security technologist. Candidates who achieve this certification demonstrate the foundational knowledge and skills required to install and support a Cisco Self-Defending Network. Candidates who achieve this certification also meet the National Security Agency's CNSS 4011 training standard.
Comprehensive updates to the Securing Network Devices (SND) curriculum form the foundation of the new Information Security Specialist certification. The SND exam is also required for those pursuing the professional-level Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) certification and the current portfolio of Cisco Specialist certifications, including Firewall, IPS, and VPN. Skills validated in the new SND exam include implementing basic authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA), Cisco Intrusion Detection System/Intrusion Protection System (IDS/IPS) sensors, Cisco VPN 3000 Series Concentrators, and employing access control lists (ACLs) to avert router, network, and common Layer 2 attacks.

On September 30th, CompTIA released 2 of the updated A+ exams. These exams are A+ Essentials (220-601) and 220-622. The 2003 objectives will be available until "at least" December 31st according to CompTIA's web site.

Here are the latest additions to our Training Directory.
We have added 2 new books for CompTIA's new A+ exams to our training directory. One of these books is available now, and the other is scheduled to be released sometime this month. Use the sorting bar to sort the books by date descending and the top 2 will be the new additions. Let's get off on the right foot with these new books and make sure that if you buy one that you post a short review and rating for your peers!
