More Free Practice Test Questions:
We have added 15 more questions to our Linux+ exam making a total of 175. There are still more coming.
New CCNP Tutorial:
We have just published a new article for the CCNP Routing exam 642-801. The article is titled "OSPF Autonomous Border System Routers Explained And Illustrated" and was written by Chris Bryant CCIE #12933.
70-284 Resource Page:
We have added a new resource page for Microsoft's Exchange Server 2003 exam (70-284) here. Here you will find exam information, links to our materials, and resources located on other sites.
New Forum:
We have added a new forum titled "Security" which is located at the bottom of the forums list in the "Real World Problems and Information" section. This forum will be in good hands with Headhunter and Reddrakehat serving as moderators.
Test Engine Bug Fix:
While having a new bug fixed that caused scoring problems, we also had an ongoing issue fixed that displayed incorrect average score information in the statistics of our exams. These averages now reflect the correct average scores for each exam.
Coming Soon
We still have more practice test questions on deck and we will also be making some improvements to our Testing Center over the next month. Stay tuned...
Planet3Wireless announced an update to its CWNA exam earlier this month to cover newer technologies. CWNA stands for Certified Wireless Network Administrator.
The new exam number is #PW0-100, has 60 questions, a 90-minute time limit and a 70% passing score. The exam costs $175.

| :: CCIE Lab Exams Update :: |
|
Effective January 1, 2006, there will be some important content changes to the Cisco CCIE lab exams as follows:
* CCIE Routing and Switching written and lab exams will no longer include the following protocols or media types: DLSW, IS-IS, ISDN, PPP over Ethernet, and ATM.
* CCIE Security lab exams will no longer test on ISDN technology, and ATM will no longer be used as a Layer 2 transport protocol for WAN connectivity.
* CCIE Voice lab exams will no longer use ATM as a Layer 2 transport protocol for WAN connectivity.
Please note, however, that CCIE Service Provider lab exams will continue to test ATM and IS-IS, as they are widely deployed in service provider networks.

By David Schultz
I personally like to take instructor-led classes whenever I am getting myself into something new and/or unknown. I really like to have labs and to also hear the experiences of the instructors. I have always held that it is the experience that the instructor brings to a course that makes training great. I appreciate learning from their mistakes and the mistakes they know I am going to make. I think this is one place that Train Signal really comes through. The instructor does not present you the information that you could just read at mcrosoft.com but also talks about what you really need to know to be successful using the product. The instructor does not have to try to fit all the information into a week like some of the training schools try to do in their boot camp like classes. Who has time to take a week off from work for a class these days? And Train Signal is also a lot cheaper.
Train Signal does require you to have access to some hardware to set up a lab to follow along with. The labs do not require too much hardware and could be built with spare systems lying around. Alternatively, one might try using Vmware. The classes also come with instructor notes and a book in the form of acrobat files. Even though I like having a book I can read away from my computer, I also like the fact that I can save the book on my company laptop and just do a find whenever I need to look something up.
Overall, I think this is an excellent product, and I am looking forward to taking more classes by Train Signal.
