This will be our last newsletter for 2004 and we will be back after the new year. We want to wish all of you a very happy and safe holidays and we look forward to another great year at MC MCSE. And now for the new stuff... Test Bug Fixes and Upgrades: We have completed an extensive overhaul of the test engine in our Testing Center. This work includes bug fixes as well as the addition of a couple of new features. Below is the list of changes: Bugs Fixed: 1) The well-known bug where the questions on the answer page do not match the ones that you had on your test has been fixed. Please note that you still need to have JavaScript and Cookies enabled for the exams to work properly. 2) A minor statistics error was fixed Features Added: 1) User selectable time limits. You can now select the length of time that you wish your exam to be. 2) Timer improvement. The timer in the exams now displays in a conventional format rather than in seconds. 3) Additional answer option fields. We are now able to add more than 6 answer options which means that future exam questions can be made more difficult. 4) Administrative improvements. These are upgrades that were added to make my life easier when administering the exams. After the new year, there will be another set of features added. Stay tuned! New Test Questions: Coming Soon: I discovered an open source LPI 101 study guide that we are free to republish. We are working on fixing the formatting and it should be available very soon. Cisco has announced that their CCNA Prep Center is now available to all certification candidates. The Prep Center includes sample questions, simulations, e-learning modules, labs, tips, and other study resources. To gain access to the CCNA Prep Center, you need to login or complete the free registration located here.
CompTIA announced that the Network+ Beta exam went live on November 29th, 2004. The beta version will be available until December 31st, 2004. VUE and Prometric are offering a free voucher for the exam to the first 1000 qualified individuals to sign up for the exam. To qualify, you must first complete a pre-exam survey. More information about this can be found here.
