| More Information on Taiwanese Braindumpers |
|
Certcities.com has released a follow-up article regarding the Taiwanese braindumpers who were recently arrested by the police. The article explains that this action was not the result of any of the certification vendors, but rather from complaints from individuals.
It is also clear from the statements by the Taiwan Criminal Investigation Bureau that they have a deep understanding as to the damage that this behavior causes the I.T. industry and that is very encouraging.
You can read the full article here.

| CCIE Security Exam Changes |
|
Cisco has announced changes to their CCIE Security written exam (350-018). The new objectives will go live on June 1st. The exam will focus on:
- Standalone IDS (Intrusion Detection System) sensors, which provide highly accurate threat detection and rapid response to security breaches
- Standalone VPN concentrators, which create secure tunnels into the enterprise and improve the security of branch operations and remote employees
- VPN/Security Management Systems (VMS), a powerful web-based system for configuring, deploying and troubleshooting complex secure networks
- AES and EAP wireless protocols, which support secure wireless access to devices across the enterprise
An article by CNN reports that the number of jobs in U.S. grew by 308,000 jobs in March, while economists were only expecting 123,000 new jobs. This is the largest growth spurt in 4 years and a good indication of a recovering economy. The unemployment rate is now down to 5.7%.

CCNA Router and Switch eSIM
CCNA Router and Switch eSIM by Cisco Press is for networkers who are preparing for the CCNA exam, are new to the networking field, or are practitioners who want to perfect their hands-on configuration skills. CCNA Router and Switch eSIM combines on two CD-ROMs tools that not only provide intermediate- to late-stage hands-on test preparation but also provide help in translating theoretical learning to real-world application.

A+ Certification All-in-One Exam Guide
This book is over 1000 pages long and is an excellent reference. The one problem that I had with it is that the software and hardware information is somewhat mixed together. You have to go through the whole book for each exam and pick out the parts that are relevant for the exam you are working on.
CCNA Router and Switch eSIM
I really recommned getting this software to prepare for your CCNA exam. The interface is practically the same as in the exam for the simulation questions. It is an authorized router and switch self-study simulation software for CCNA exam preparation
It improves upon the traditional interactive multimedia learning experience for networkers who are preparing for the CCNA exam, are new to the networking field, or are practitioners who want to perfect their hands-on configuration skills.
This simulator provides hands-on experience with routers and switches using three network scenarios: five routers, which includes support for access control lists (ACLs); three switches, for trunking and virtual LANs (VLANs); and two switches and one router, for routing between VLANs. Each scenario enables you to specify your own IP addressing schemes, providing you with a dynamic IP addressing environment.
CCNA Router and Switch eSIM is part of a recommended learning path from Cisco Systems that can include simulation and hands-on training from authorized Cisco Learning Partners and self-study products from Cisco Press.
Minimum System Requirements:
- System running Windows(r) 95, 98, 2000, or NT(r) 4.0, Mac(r) OS 9 or higher300 MHz with 64 MB RAM
- Minimum 800 x 600 video resolution with 256 or more colorsCD-ROM drive
- Windows Media(tm) Player 7.0 or higher. Note: Windows 95 and NT 4.0 do not support Windows Media Player 7.0, so the videos must be played on a different OS
